Me, I'm not that eager to use the google map-api, partly because their coverage of Western Europe sucks, but mostly because "The google API is a free beta-service. Google retains the right to put advertising on the map in the future."

And ofcourse ... ( OFFCOURSE !!! ) I've got my own development on that mather ...
And guess what: It's neatly integrated with my blogger scripts.
